Scarlett Johansson has put her boot in to Hollywood by saying that all actors should not be restricted in taking diverse roles and should be able to take what they want.
It comes after Johansson was slated last year for taking the part of a transgender character for the upcoming film 'Rub and Tug'.
Critics waded in on the news of her role by saying that the part should have been given to a transgender actor in the hope to increase diversity in Hollywood which it massively lacks.
Scarlett ended up stepping down from the role due to the widespread backlash.Johansson has been outspoken in the past few years in addressing the issues of casting controversies in Hollywood, saying that you should be "allowed to play anyone".
In an interview with As If magazine, she said: "You know, as an actor I should be allowed to play any person, or any tree, or any animal because that is my job and the requirements of my job.
"I feel like it's a trend in my business and it needs to happen for various social reasons, yet there are times it does get uncomfortable when it affects the art because I feel art should be free of restrictions.
"I think society would be more connected if we just allowed others to have their own feelings and not expect everyone to feel the way we do."Johansson was criticised on social media for the comments.
